Film Review- Food INC.

The film we watched was called Food Inc. It was a documentary on the food industry that exposed the food industry in a light that we try our hardest not to. Everyone knows the food industry is a lot less sanitary, for lack of a better word, than we would like to believe. Subconsciously, we try to block the little we know about how discusting the food industry really is.

But when watching the film, it made that nightmare a more credible one. Seeing first hand what it looks like to have our, soon-to-be hamburgers, walking around in their own, mixed with all the others, feces. It is one thing to hear about that, but seeing in presently visually made it become more life like and unappealing.

There was nothing that I disagreed with. All the evidence provided seemed to be back with a visual and credible verification, so I believe the facts that were presented. It is just a very shocking film to view as a whole, in general. Having my mom as a body builder and professional fitness trainer, I eat a healthy and balanced diet regularly so I can't say I feel it neccisary to change my eating patterns.

I would deffinetly recommend this to a friend who may be struggling with eating and living a healthy lifestyle as a way in hopes to create an epiphany for that individual. I would probably not thoroughy explain the film and would more have them taken by surprise for a harder and longer lasting impression.

  1. I do hope that you share the movie with your friends and family and I completely agree I think the "shock" method is great! It's better to watch it without expectations. What does your Mom, the fitness trainer, think of this movie?

    1. Where is this film accessible? I would like to share it with my mom, before explain it to her in any depth.

  2. I definetly think that if you show this to anyone it will leave a long lasting impression. I know that it did for me. That is very fortunate that you already have such good eating habits, because I know for my self there are some areas which I still would like improve on when it comes to eating. The one thing that I felt was really lacking from the film was that no counter argument was made which I find is absolutely critical when it comes to a documentary for me to take it face value

  3. I totally agree with the view of a nightmare revealed in the case of this movie. Most people today ignore simple facts like what exactly is their food made of simply so they do not have to take action. I did wish that the film provided a better view from the other side but no production company would agree to be interviewed. It is very favorable in your case that you come from a healthy eating background, I believe that everyone should be exposed to that type of knowledge.

  4. That's amazing that your mom is a body builder/fitness trainer! Having those healthy eating habits instilled in you is great, and I wish I had more healthy of eating habits. But after watching that video, I have really changed the way I eat! I read all my labels now and try to buy only organic (although it gets really pricey :/) But the best we can do is try to change little by little! :) Thanks for sharing!
